Tryout Information

All new State Junior Lifeguard participants are REQUIRED to attend a tryout. Tryouts are non-competitive and are used to ensure a minimum ability in the water.

Equipment and materials to bring to tryout:

  • Swimsuit
  • Towel
  • Goggles (optional)

Each new participant is required to demonstrate:

  1. A continuous 100-yard swim using the freestyle stroke in under 2-1/2 minutes
  2. A 10-yard underwater swim
  3. Treading water for 3 minutes

Tryout Dates and Locations: ***Only for NEW APPLICANTS

*Additional option to film your childs swim test and message them to me, or have a swim coach sign off.

Swim test MUST be completed successfully BEFORE registration.
