The Friends of Jawbone have been very instrumental in helping to develop and keep OHV access open. They have worked closely with the Division to develop plans and strategies to expand and maintain public access to OHV opportunities on public lands. Without this groups help the road and trail system in the area would not look as it does today. I would like to highly recommend that the Division fully fund this project so they can continue the great work they have been doing to ensure public access to public lands. Mike Wubbels – 4/1/16
These grants add up to a huge amount of money. They are justified given the proximity to the greater Los Angeles area and all the people who go to Jawbone. The Owlshead grant is for far more than just the Jawbone area. Looks like it covers the whole WEMO area, plus some National Forests. I guess you have to put this request somewhere. I hope this Owlshead gets funded. They make an excellent point, that many maps, GPS's etc contain routes that are actually not open. This can cause unknowing intrusions and may cause problems. Having all the legal routes in one electronic place is a great idea and I hope the grant is funded, everyone finds out about the info and people enjoy the legal routes. Ed Stovin – 4/2/16
