I am a City of Sacramento resident. I frequently commute to work on the bike trails and make regular use of the American river and its access areas. I feel these areas are not regularly policed. I have witnessed dirt bikes being driven recklessly on the trails and all kinds of blight associated with the homeless population in these areas. Any tools or vehicles that will allow our City's officers to patrol these underserved areas will be beneficial to our community. Jake Casella - 3/9/16

This sounds like a useful tool for the Sacramento Police Department. I have seen OHV's operating on our public lands along the river. There is also a large number of homeless residing along the American River Bike Trail. These tools would be beneficial in addressing these issues. Skyler Baldock - 3/9/16

As stated in the proposal, the city of Sacramento does not have any OHV areas. The fact that vehicles of all kinds, including those designated as OHV, create issues within Sacramento is beyond the scope and responsibility of the OHV commission. I am opposed to this indirect use of OHV funds. Christopher Methot – 3/20/16

I am a off road motorcycle rider and support responsible OHV recreation. I have read this grant proposal and feel it would be an inappropriate use of Off Highway Motor Vehicle funds. Please do not award this grant request. Thank you. Ron McDonell – 3/21/16

In no way do I support this money grab. There is no OHV area in the city of Sacramento and our funds should not be used for this purpose. Brad Seder – 3/21/16

I'm a City resident of Sacramento and I have personally witnessed illegal off road vehicles on bike paths and areas of the river. I think this is a great program. Lee – 3/22/16

I live in the city of Sacramento and think this is a wonderful idea. My family and I enjoy using the bike trails along the American River. I have had several incidents with others on the trails involving illegal activities. Some people ride way too fast and others are so drunk and loud they make me feel uncomfortable having my family there. I think getting a vehicle like this is a good idea and will help all of Sacramento enjoy the bike trails more. Amy Wood – 3/23/16

I feel grant money should be spent for opening new OHV areas or improving existing trails and facilities. Law enforcement, while important, should not rely on this type of grant funds. I do not support this grant request. Scott Elston – 3/26/16

I do not believe that OHV money was intended for Law Enforcement. My monies should be going towards maintaining the OHV system of parks and creating new opportunities for the tax payers that provide the funding. Therefore I oppose this grant request. Denis Kobza – 3/27/16

This grant application is kind of ridicules. I don't see how a State riding area over 20 mi. away becomes a responsibility of the OHV community to deal with discarded junk and enforcement in Sacramento! Please do not fund this request! Thanks Dave Froman – 3/28/16

This would be a very helpful addition to the Sac PD Mounted/Marine Unit. To have the ability to reach places that are not accessible by regular patrol would be a benefit to the community. This would allow additional areas to be patrolled which would add to the safety and protection of the citizens who use these recreational areas. Having a regular patrol visible to all will help reduce unlawful activity that takes place and create a more secure environment for those individuals who enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely support this as an additional resource tool as it would be a very effective method that would allow officers the ability to patrol beyond the paved roads. Gayle Silvey – 3/30/16

I work in Old Sacramento. You would be surprised at how many dirt bikes come through Old Sac. They can come and go from the bike trail and it is totally disruptive to the way we do things in Old Sac. If the Police can find a way to better patrol that area and stop these dirt bikes, then I am all for it. Jared Kiser – 3/30/16

I do not believe that OHV money was intended for Law Enforcement. My monies should be going towards maintaining the OHV system of parks and creating new opportunities for the tax payers that provide the funding. Chris Gallop – 4/2/16
