Wildfire Damages Mammoth Bar OHV Area
Mammoth Bar OHV Area, located within the Auburn State Recreation Area (ASRA), remains open after a wildfire consumed approximately 650 acres of vegetation on July 16, 2009. Approximately 70% of the Mammoth Bar OHV Area was burned including fencing, signs, posts, and a portable storage facility. ASRA staff, with the support of the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division, is in the process of developing post fire restoration plans.
Various resource specialists from the ASRA and the OHMVR Division will be conducting a site visit to perform a fire and resource assessment and discuss restoration plans to ensure sustainable recreation opportunities continue at Mammoth Bar OHV Area.

Mammoth Bar OHV Area is open Sunday, Monday, and Thursday from April 1st to September 30th, and on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday from October 1st to March 31st.
