OHV Title

East Lake Resource Conservation District

Thank you for submitting this worthy proposed project. The Wintun Camp serpentine wet meadow area is in dire need of attention to protect the Indian Valley watershed, the unique native plant species in this sensitive area, and to preserve the beauty of the meadow. It is my understanding that signage could be improved in the area, and I am glad to see that this project includes signage to help guide OHV users to remain on sanctioned trails. With 194 miles of routes available for OHV recreation that caters to all skill levels in the Indian Valley Recreation Area, there truly is a need to set aside sensitive corridors to preserve natural habitat and aesthetic beauty for both the OHV and non-OHV public to enjoy. If possible, I would propose that a docent-guided hike and OHV ride open to the public be held possibly between the months of Nov-May to familiarize local communities with this recreation area, and why the meadow needs protection. Thanks so much. Giselle Granzow Stahl - 3/17/15
