Rescue 3, Inc.

I am writing to you in regards to the Grant Application that has been submitted by the Search and Rescue group known as "Rescue 3".  I implore you to seriously consider this application and rule in its favor.

I am an off-road enthusiast, as is my entire family.  Several times a year I engage in an organized race event in the desert where there is significant chance of injury.  Due to the very nature of the event, getting assistance, especially hep trained in first aid, is very difficult.  Having an organization like Rescue 3 on hand is a tremendous benefit to the racing community.  I believe that their presence also offloads a lot of work that would otherwise default to county or state agencies.

To date, I have not had need of Rescue 3 services, and I hope that I never do.  But I am very much aware of their presence.  This is a fine organization that is very well run.  I am sure that any dollar that is provided to this group will go to very good use and to the benefit of the public.  [Rod McInnis - 3/6/13]

Please give the utmost consideration and help for the funding grant for Rescue 3. They do a great job and do a lot of work that would otherwise be put on the local fire departments and rescue squads. They are always there and their prompt action has no doubt saved numerous lives. [Ken Bunting - 3/6/13]

One of the main reasons I participate in District 37 events is due to knowing there are qualified and dedicated people who will be there if I am ever in need of their services.

As an avid OHV recreationalist that frequents legal OHV riding areas and participates in Offroad Racing events in the Southern California area, Rescue 3 has always been an integral part of the desert OHV community providing a necessary precautionary service in the form of search and rescue and Emergency Medical Services for downed and injured riders in the field.  Not only does Rescue 3 render aid to the racing community but also to riders not affiliated with any sanctioned event.  Any assistance in the form of grants or other financial resources that are available will definitely be appreciated by the OHV families to ensure that the health and safety of riders that have the misfortune to be injured, stranded or need assistance will continue to receive the best care from Rescue 3 team.   Rescue 3 is a resource in the OHV community that provides an excellent service for the community and  my family and I wish to have their continued support whenever I am in the desert.  Thank you for your support. I would like to comment on the grant application 23-7028969 from Rescue 3. This applicant has a long record of proving essential niche in emergency response that is relied on by several local and regional agencies, and of obvious benefit to the recreational users ( the public that funds the grant program) Their equipment is subjected to a lot of wear and tear, and maintained until it is no longer cost effective.

The equipment proposed to be repaired or replaced in this current grant application is money well spent, and enlightened self interest; the lives they help save are those of taxpayers who will continue to fund this program through their fuel taxes! [Mark Algazy, Esq. - 3/20/13]
