New OHV Training Course Launched at Prairie City SVRA

Side-by-Side in Training

October 25-28, 2011, California State Parks, Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division, and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) teamed up to pilot a new off-highway vehicle training course at Prairie City SVRA. The course, specifically developed to teach the public safe and responsible Recreational Off-highway Vehicle (ROV) operation, is expected to officially launch early 2012 to meet the growing need for ROV training. Participants were invited from across the US and Canada to participate in the weeklong training to become certified DriverCoach Trainers and DriverCoaches. The last day of DriverCoach instruction featured a live DriverCourse including six students, all California State Parks staff. The OHMVR Division looks forward to working with ROHVA to provide this training opportunity statewide. Check out ROHVA’s e-course, the prerequisite for the hands-on DriverCourse.
