Napa County Sheriff's Office
Request for $64,708 dollars for law enforcement. This amount will pay for Sheriff patrol, 40 hours per month in the Knoxville area. The primary purpose is to patrol approximately 356 square miles. The funding is for labor and maintenance of equipment. Training, gear and the actual equipment is to be provided by the Sheriff’s department. This is a program that has been working for several years.
The request is reasonable and has resulted in a working partnership between law enforcement, the BLM and the OHV community. This grant refers to the role law enforcement can play in the preservation of our riding areas. The consistent presence of law enforcement whether to discipline, educate or assist in rescue, encourages sound management of our off highway recreation. [Diana Mead - 3/27/11]
