Hazards

You are responsible to know park rules and regulations. All provisions of the California Vehicle Code are enforced. Upon entering each SVRA check at the front kiosk for current rules and regulations.

  • Watch out for soil-erosion ditches, holes, chop-offs and rocks. Some of these hazards have been marked or removed, but there are still a few that may surprise you, especially, when you are riding the cobbled tailings area.
  • Rattlesnakes may be found in this area. They are important members of the natural community. They will not attack, but if disturbed or cornered, they will defend themselves. Give them distance and respect.
  • Summer temperatures normally range from 90° – 105°. The physical exertion with OHV operations and prolonged exposure to the blazing sun present a real risk of heat exhaustion or heatstroke.
